To perform a correct and comfortable flight on board aircraft a large number of different communications equipment is used which provides:
– voice communication with air traffic controller service (ATS) and other aircraft pilots;
– exchange of data in digital form between ground surfeillance systems and other aircraft systems;
– internal communicatiom between pilots, personnel and passengers;
– voice communication and data exchange between passengers and terrestrial networks.
Available airborne communications equipment is required and regulated by many regulations, including CS-25 and FAR-25.
